The Best Fall Wedding Venues in Dallas

September 18, 2025

When fall rolls into Dallas, weddings take on a whole new level of magic. The crisp air, soft golden light, cozy vibes, and rich seasonal colors create the dreamiest setting for saying “I do.” As local wedding planners, we can confidently say this is one of the best times of year to get married in Dallas. And if you’re searching for that perfect fall venue, We’ve got you covered.

Here are three standout wedding venues in Dallas that are truly made for fall.

Arlington Hall at Turtle Creek Park

If you love venues with history, character, and that Southern charm, Arlington Hall is a must-see. This timeless venue offers a seamless indoor/outdoor experience that is perfect for the unpredictable (but usually amazing) fall weather in Dallas.

Fall magic: The main hall gives off major classic estate vibes, while the gardens and terraces outside are ideal for ceremonies or cocktail hour. Fall leaves start to scatter across the lawns, and the architecture makes every photo look like it belongs in a bridal magazine. Whether you opt for open-air celebrations or bring in a beautiful tent, Arlington Hall delivers charm, flexibility, and unforgettable views.

The Joule Hotel

Want something more modern and a lot of style? The Joule Hotel is your go to for a chic, downtown wedding that still captures the cozy feel of fall. This luxury hotel blends moody, modern interiors with standout outdoor spaces.

Why it works for fall: The rooftop terrace and Eye Lawn offer a stunning ceremony backdrop with city views and crisp fall breezes. The indoor ballrooms are perfect for a moody, elegant reception. Bonus: cocktail hour on the terrace at sunset? Unmatched. And with built-in hotel accommodations, it’s guest-friendly, too.

Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek

For a venue that combines luxury, history, and timeless elegance, the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek is an iconic Dallas choice, especially in the fall. Nestled in the heart of the city yet surrounded by lush greenery, this historic mansion brings a warm, refined charm that’s hard to beat.

Fall magic: Think golden hour portraits under ivy-covered archways, intimate courtyard ceremonies framed by turning leaves, and candlelit dinners in one of Dallas’s most sophisticated settings. The Mansion’s architecture and ambiance naturally lend themselves to a romantic fall aesthetic, making it ideal for couples seeking a luxurious yet inviting atmosphere. Bonus: the service here is top-tier, and your guests will be wowed from start to finish.

Whether you’re picturing a garden ceremony under the trees, a rooftop toast under the stars, or a ballroom reception in candlelight, Dallas has a fall wedding venue to match your vision. These three venues each have their own personality and will be perfect for Fall weddings.

The right setting can elevate the entire experience for you and your guests, so if you’re planning a fall wedding in Dallas, these are the venues we recommend!

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR PERFECT WEDDING DATE IN DALLAS + WHAT DATES TO AVOID

September 5, 2025

Choosing your wedding date is one of the first (and most exciting!) steps in the planning process. You’ll want to pick a time of year that fits your vision and perfect wedding vibe. Dallas is a vibrant, busy city with stunning venues, lively energy and generally great weather. But it also has a packed calendar of major events that can bring traffic, limited hotel availability, and even no-shows from your guests.

Before you get too attached to a specific date, it’s worth doing a little research to make sure you’re not sharing your big day with 90,000 football fans. As wedding planners, we’ve learned a few things about picking the perfect date, and what weekends to avoid. Let’s break it down!

First things first, let’s talk seasons! If you are dreaming of an outdoor ceremony or photos that don’t involve sweating, you’ll want to steer clear of Dallas summers. August can easily hit 100 degrees and feel hotter in a wedding dress! Trust us, no one wants to wilt on the walk down the aisle.

Spring and Fall are sweet spots in Dallas, with beautiful weather, blooming florals and golden hour sunsets. But here’s the catch: everyone loves those seasons, so venues and vendors boom up fast. If you have your heart set on a popular date, we recommend locking it in early. And if you’re flexible? Even late winter or early summer can surprise you with great weather and availability!

Now, let’s talk about what to avoid, because no one wants their wedding day competing with a parade full of giant inflatable snowmen.

One major weekend we always flag is the big OU-Texas College Football game played at the cotton bowl. This game is held the second weekend of October and is known as the Red River Rivalry. This game draws in tens of thousands of fans and floods the city with traffic, booked hotels and busy restaurants.

Another one to watch is the Dallas Holiday Parade, typically the first Saturday in December. While it’s festive and fun for the holidays, it shuts down a huge chunk of downtown, making vendor access a logistical nightmare. Trying to get a cake delivery through road closures? Not exactly what we recommend on your wedding day.

And don’t forget the Dallas Marathon, which usually falls on the second weekend of December. Like the parade, it involves major street closures and detours, which can cause delays for guests, vendors and anyone trying to move around the city.

And here’s a big one for the Summer of 2026 couples, the FIFA World Cup is coming to Dallas! AT&T Stadium in Arlington has been selected as one of the host venues, and while the exact match dates are not out yet, this will be a massive global event that will bring tens of thousands of fans, press and tourists from all over the world. From June 2026-July 2026 we expect increased traffic, sold out hotels and high demand at restaurants and venues for the DFW area. If you’re planning a 2026 wedding, especially in June or July, keep a close eye on the schedule and book that date now!

The bottom line is that Dallas is full of energy and events, which is part of what makes it such a  fun place to get married, but a little planning ahead will save you a lot of stress!

To avoid these headaches, always double check the Dallas events calendar before locking in your date. A quick peek can save you from surprise street closures, booked hotels, or competing for dinner reservations. Planning around these major events means your wedding weekend will be smooth, stress free and most importantly all about you!

Sweet & Stylish Ways to ask your Girls to be Bridesmaids

June 13, 2025

Planning a wedding is full of magical moments that you will remember forever, but few are as personal as asking your best friends to stand by your side as bridesmaids. As a wedding planner, we have seen so many beautiful and fun ways to pop the question! Here are a few ways to help inspire your own “Will you be my bridesmaid”’ moments!

  • The classic Bridesmaid Box

You can never go wrong with a thoughtfully curated bridesmaid proposal box. Fill it with goodies such as items they will use like lipgloss, custom candles, mini champagne bottles, and a handwritten note! Add a cute card that says “Will you be my bridesmaid?” for that personal touch! There are a lot of small businesses that make custom boxes for these moments!

  • Personalized Keepsakes

Think beyond the question of just asking your girls, and offer a personal keepsake that they can treasure forever. Some of these items might include:

  • Monogrammed silk robes
  • Custom jewelry with Initials
  • Embroidered makeup bags
  • Framed photo of the two of you with a message on the back

Not only as these gifts thoughtful, but can double as wedding day accessories!

  • Plan a Mini Celebration

Host a brunch, afternoon tea, or wine night with your girls and turn it into a bridesmaid’s reveal! Prepare a little toast and present each girl with a small gift or card. It is a lovely way to celebrate friendship and kick off the wedding planning journey together!

However you choose to ask your bridesmaids, make it personal. Think about celebrating the bond you share with your best girls, and inviting them to play a special role in one of the biggest moments of your life. Whether you go big or keep it simple, the love you put into the proposal will shine through.

Vintage Dallas Inspired Wedding

June 9, 2025

Olivia and Will set the perfect stage for a classy wedding blended with Dallas charm. The personal touches from SMU postcards, to family photos on the welcome table made the day uniquely meaningful.

The ceremony took place at the historic Highland Park United Methodist Church, where stained glass windows let in the perfect amount of sunshine and classic architecture set the tone. From there, guests made their way to Lakewood Country club, a sentimental choice for Olivia, who grew up making memories there with her family. The reception was a stunning fusion of classy charm with unique pieces to tie in Olivia and Will’s love story.

The couple incorporated thoughtful details throughout the evening that reflected both of their story and style. A creative seating chart featuring vintage-style postcards of SMU and Dallas served as both a nod to the city they love and a clever way to guide guests to their tables. One of the most talked about moments was the Snuffers Cheddar Fry Bar –  a playful tribute to the couple’s very first date spot where they ordered a basket of cheddar fries! Adding an unforgettable twist to the reception, Olivia and Will brought back a family tradition with a show stopping Espresso Martini Luge, a recreation of Olivia’s parents Ice Luge that they had at their own wedding. It was the perfect blend of fun and modern energy!

Ending the night with a private last dance, guests lined up at the front of the country club with SMU color Pom Poms to shake while Olivia and Will set off in a golf cart on their new chapter of life!

An Intimate Wedding at Hotel Swexan

June 6, 2025

Carey and Jon wanted a small intimate wedding surrounded by their closest friends and family. There’s something undeniably special about an intimate wedding. The laughter, the small moments feel more personal, and every guest is truly apart of the love story.

Back in December, we had the honor of planning a beautiful, family-only ceremony at the stunning Hotel Swexan in Dallas. With just 15 cherished guests in attendance, this event was the epitome of meaningful simplicity – a reminder that weddings don’t have to be huge to be unforgettable.

Carey and Jon chose to exchange vows in a serene private space of the black and white ballroom at the hotel surrounded by their closest family members. The setting was effortlessly elegant, with minimal white floral touches and soft ambient lighting from the candles. This created a warm and romantic atmosphere as the sun was setting through the ballroom windows.

After Carey and Jon exchanged ‘I Do’, the celebration continued with a private dinner in one of the hotel’s restaurants. Laughter and heartfelt toasts echoed throughout the evening, and of course they had the classic cake cutting that was just as sweet as the love shared in the room! From the touching vows to meaningful conversations at dinner, their day was filled with intentional details.

Carey and Jon’s wedding was truly unforgettable and focused on what matters most. Love, family and connection!

A Private Tented Backyard Wedding

May 2, 2025

Kenna and David dreamed of a heartfelt spring wedding, and what better place to say “I Do” than in Kennas childhood home backyard? Her choices of incorporating her favorite spring colors – soft lilac and blush tones, were perfectly woven throughout their day.

Having met during their college days at a TCU football tailgate, Kenna and David’s love story came full circle with their closest friends and family.

The ceremony took place under a clear top tent, allowing the spring sky to shine through. Aisles were lined with vibrant florals and formed a romantic floral arch that captured bold hues. This really made it feel like it was out of a dream!

While guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the lawn, the tent was transformed into the perfect romantic garden inspired reception space. Elegant floral centerpieces and dramatic crystal chandeliers created a magical setting for Kenna and David to dance under.

The night wrapped up with dancing and espresso martinis. From the custom trucker hats, to light up wands – each guest felt special and wanting to keep the dancing going! As the final song played, Kenna and David sped off in their vintage ford bronco waving goodbye amid a sky of confetti and sparkling lights. A perfect end to a day full of love and unforgettable memories.

8 Wedding-Day Ideas for the Groom and His Guys

November 15, 2018

Our Friends over at Groovy Groomsmen Gifts have all of the bros in your life taken care of. They had a few suggestions and ideas for what the men in your wedding could do while the girls are spending all day primping! We loved hearing all of their suggestions!

Weddings don’t typically start at the break of dawn, unless that’s your thing, which is totally fine. But if you’re doing yours late in the afternoon just in time for sunset at the end of the ceremony, you’ll have a lot of time not only to prepare but also to squeeze in some prewedding fun before you head your way to the altar.

It takes women considerably more time to prepare, as compared to men. If you’re the groom, killing time with your groomsmen may be your only responsibility for the most part of the day.

Think of communal activities that you can do to ease the stress of waiting and anticipating from all the preparations you’ve been doing with your partner. It’s not easy to relax especially if you’re preoccupied, which isn’t unusual for brides and grooms on their wedding day.

Here’s a quick list of eight activities that you can do with your groomsmen. Choose one or two that best fit your situation.

Brunch

Who says brunch is only for the ladies? Men like french toast, cinnamon rolls, and mimosas too. They’re just really bad at showing it.

Head on to your favorite diner, and feed yourselves like the grown men you are. This may seem like an obvious thing to do, but sometimes, people tend to forget to eat when they’re preoccupied with the stress of a big event.

This is also the perfect opportunity to whip out the unique groomsmen gifts that you have been secretly hiding from the squad. So grab that glass of cocktail you secretly love, and make a short toast.

Gym Session

Break a sweat with your groomsmen and squeeze in a quick workout session. It’s always nice to get your blood flowing by pumping in some iron before the wedding ceremony.

For an hour or two, you can lift weights, run on the treadmill, or jump rope. If you’ve been feeling a lot of body tension lately, nothing beats out physical stress and pre-wedding anxiety more than a really good workout does.

Also, make sure that you still have ample time to shower after hitting the gym. Sweat dripping all over your face and body doesn’t really count as a flattering wedding-glow look.

Morning Hike

If it’s a destination wedding and you’ve chosen a serene beach or mountain resort as your location, you can head out for a morning hike with your groomsmen. Wake up early, watch the sunrise, and feel the cool breeze of the great outdoors.

Depending on where you host your ceremony, you can do so much more than a hike. If you have a nearby lake, you can catch some fish or go on a canoe ride. Being one with Mother Nature will certainly make you feel at peace. It goes without saying that this is only possible if your wedding happens outside the city.

 Sports Tournament

Take your mind off the wedding for a few hours and get competitive with your groomsmen in a game of basketball or rugby. Split the gang into two teams, and keep tabs on who’s leading.

This is a sure way to wake you up and get everyone hyped for the rest of the day. Or if you want a less-intensive sport, you can try golf, a classic guys’-day-out activity.

Be careful, though. Your bride is not going to be happy with a last-minute injury. She certainly didn’t plan for you to be rushed to the emergency room or medics to give you or any of your groomsmen first aid.

Photo Shoot

To ensure that you’ll have lasting memories of the day you get married, have your photos taken by a professional photographer. Of course, the most important subject will be you, the bride, and the elegant engagement ring and wedding-ring sets, but before you’re joined by the future misses in the frame, you’ll have the opportunity to goof off with your groomsmen first.

You’ll have to decide on a peg beforehand. You and your debonair groomsmen can act serious in a black-and-white photo shoot or play it cool and calm in an outdoor setting.

It’s ultimately your call. This is a fun way for you to create a narrative for the wedding and show your personality.

 Pamper Yourselves

Visit your local barber, and get yourselves a haircut and a shave because men also need to be pampered once in a while. While you’re at it, avail of a face steam or facial massage service as well if they offer it.

Not only will the entire squad look crisp and dashing for the wedding photos and the actual ceremony, but you will also save on energy trying to figure out the right amount of pomade or spray to put on your hair. It’s important that you set an appointment beforehand so that the barber can accommodate you and your groomsmen on the day and time that you’ll be visiting.

Go Out for Drinks

Have a couple of shots with your bros if there’s a brewery or pub near your venue. Dowsing a manageable amount of beer or cocktails before the reception helps calm the nerves and eases the wedding jitters that you may be feeling.

Make sure to limit the bottles, though. One of the things your wedding planner would probably hate is a drunk person even before the party started. Remind your groomsmen that they can always drink later at the reception, with the added advantage that it has already been paid for by you.

Just imagine having a drunk person ruining your wedding. Months of preparation will go down the drain because one person had way too many bottles to drink.

Nothing

You can also do absolutely nothing. You’ve been working hard for the past few months with all the planning, suit fittings, and food tasting you’ve been doing. You deserve a break and just relax on the morning of your wedding day.

Have your groomsmen go to your house or hotel room and bond over chips, Nintendo, Netflix, and blackjack. Just tell them to grab their comfiest hoodies and joggers, and they’re good to go. A little R&R with your closest friends will help you feel calm and rested when you finally say “I do” in front of the altar.
