Erika and Arjay: Kirkland, Washington

July 31, 2017

Erika and Arjay have such a fabulous style and a clear direction of what they wanted for their wedding day. I met Erika and Arjay over a year prior to their wedding, and even at that time Erika knew she wanted peonies, blush and a romantic garden feel. Everything they did kept this feeling in mind.

We could not have asked for a more perfect spring day. The clouds were out most of the day until right before the ceremony, when the clouds lifted and the sun began shining. It was as if the sun was shining just for Erika and Arjay!

Erika was big into DIY and made all the beautiful signs herself!

Erika wore a stunning princess dress that fit her personality completely. The ceremony was so sweet with a few readings. A friend of the family provided the flowers and did a stellar job at creating a lush arch for the couple.

After the ceremony, as the guests went inside for cocktails, Erika and Arjay hopped on a boat ride for a special private moment around Lake Washington. Toasts and dinner began shortly after. Throughout the planning process, Arjay tended to be on the shy side. I couldn’t believe how funny and witty this shy groom was! His toasts had everybody laughing and it was such a joy to see him in his element! Erika’s sweet sister also gave a toast that had all the guests in tears. It’s safe to say this group went from laughing to crying during the whole entire wedding.

The couple ended the night with a sparkler exit fit for the two of them and their sparkling personalities!

Congrats Erika and Arjay! We’re so lucky to have been a part of your big day!

Stephanie and Chase Wedding: Aubrey, Texas

July 24, 2017

I first met Stephanie about four years ago when I had worked with her mom, Marla. Even at that point, Stephanie and Chase had been together with plans for forever. Marla had always joked that once Stephanie and Chase were engaged, her first step would be to hire me!

Fast forward three years and my move to Seattle. Due to the nature of this business, the 2,000 miles between us didn’t stop them from bringing me on board their wedding team and I’m so honored!

Stephanie and Chase married at the Morgan Creek Barn in Aubrey, Texas. The beautiful barn had the perfect amount of rustic charm and an elegant feel that made it the perfect place for these lovebirds to say “I Do!”

The couple had wanted a soft light vibe and had achieved this look through beautiful string lights by Randy Ro. Much to our delight fireworks and lighting were going off in the distance and only added to their soft light feel. They completed their Texas affair with fried chicken and lots of country music.

It was truly a magical night and we’re so happy and honored to have been a part of your day! Congrats Steph and Chase!

Heather and Justin: Seabrook, Washington

July 3, 2017

The first time I talked to Heather and Justin and they told me they were getting married at Seabrook, I did a happy dance! If you’re unfamiliar with this adorable town, google it pronto. Seabrook is a picture-perfect coastal town. Imagine if Chip and Joanna Gaines did every single house in a community with a slight beach vibe, you’d end up with Seabrook.

Heather and Justin knew they wanted a destination wedding to celebrate for a full weekend with their closest family and friends. Justin had vacationed at Seabrook and brought up the idea. The couple booked the stunning venue, without Heather seeing the venue until much later!

Their March coastal wedding, unfortunately brought rain instead of sunshine, but that didn’t damper the bride and groom’s spirits at all. They grabbed umbrellas and made the most out of the photos and their day!

Heather wanted the décor to be slightly coastal with a small beach vibe. Harbor Blooms achieved this look with using driftwood for an arbor and driftwood centerpieces.

One of the big priorities for Heather and Justin was to incorporate Heather’s daughter, Madeline, into the wedding. Madeline was such a key part of the wedding being included in the unity element, having madeline cookies for dessert. And not to mention, she was dancing on-stage all night long (or until grandma came to take her to bed!)

Destination weddings tend to have a longer reception as guests can stay all night. Heather and Justin took advantage of this and had a rockin’ party catching up with all their dear friends.

Congrats Heather and Justin! We’re so honored that we got to be a part of your big day!

Megan and Andrew: Dallas, Texas

June 26, 2017

Meet the Treats!! Andrew has the best last name, and Megan is lucky to now share that fun last name as well! With Megan being in Public Relations she didn’t miss a beat when playing up that pun. There were treats literally everywhere, from the truffle escort cards, to the hard candy on the tables, to the hefty slices of cake, to the Sugarfina favors at the end of the night! We love brides that bring in so many personal details into their wedding, so with Andrew being in the marines and the two of them meeting in Hawaii, there were lots of subtle aquatic details on the tables, cocktail napkins, and throughout the bars. We were so thankful for this fun couple and their especially fun night!!

Maritime Love

June 19, 2017

Every time we go to the west coast, our hearts skip a beat. It’s no wonder why Oregon beaches are such a hot spot for elopements and intimate weddings. The inspiration for this shoot was brought on thru our maritime love.  We wanted to create a true beach elopement. Classic romance is the vibe we were aiming for with the bride’s soft movement dress and handmade hairpiece. The color palette has the perfect amount of neutral greens and ivories with pops of pale pink and dusty blues. The décor which included sails, shells and coral combined beautifully together to showcase the Oregon coast.

We wanted to create a shoot that told of a story of two long-distance lovers who have finally found each other in this crazy world. The couple has just been reunited and they celebrated their love for each other as soon as they were both on land. We aimed to create a time and story before FaceTime and texting, a time of letter-writing – a  simpler time. A time where the couple used compasses to guide them to each other.

Upon the couple’s elopement, a fresh meal of fish and oysters was the perfect celebratory dinner. The day ended with the happy couple frolicking in the ocean at sunset.

This little piece was recently featured over at Hochzeitsguide. Go check out their publication.

Heather and Jacob sure know how to throw a party!  They danced the night away after their guests indulged in mac and cheese, sliders, and tacos followed by the most fabulous donut wall anyone has ever seen. Their dance floor was packed from the first song until the very end of the night! And did we mention how much we loved their precious color palette? Lots of greens, pops of yellow, and champagnes, so perfect for that spring day!

Tips on Dressing up your Mothers Day Brunch Table

May 8, 2017

Our Dallas office was asked to design a Mothers’ Day Brunch Table and we were happy to help! Excerpt from D Magazine. See the full article in the link below.

The Colors
Whether you are hosting this at your home or a restaurant, you can always spruce a table up! Mother’s Day is such a cheery holiday, and the perfect excuse to bring in bright colors! Feel free to offset them with a contrasting color such as a navy, or a shade of blue.

The Linens
You may already have a beautiful table that may not need a full linen, but adding a nice table runner can be a great touch. We always recommend a cloth napkin for an extra pop of color and detail to your table.

The Chargers, Flatware, China, Glassware
Place settings are always our favorite part! The more plates, glasses, and silverware, the better. With a brunch, it may be a little overkill to have too much going on, but a charger, dinner plate, and a salad or dessert plate should be the right amount. You can spice things up by having an accent plate for the dessert or salad, such as this Corsica china, or even a textured plate. For the silverware, be sure to have a fork for each course, as well as the knives, and a teaspoon for coffee. Gold, copper, and rose gold silverware is so stunning, and such a fun way to mix up the traditional silver flatware. When it comes to the glassware, go for a water goblet, a champagne flute (who doesn’t love a mimosa?), and—depending how important coffee is to your crowd—a cup and saucer.

Floral
Flowers are a great way to bring in lots of color and joy, and create a cheery focal point for your table.

The Place Cards
No matter how large your event is, place cards are a special detail that reminds your guests how important they are to you. You can pick up tented place cards at any paper store, order printed ones from Etsy.com, or pick them up from a local invitation designer. Add a bloom to each place setting along with their sweet place card for a nice extra touch.

The Desserts
Calories don’t count of on the holidays! There’s nothing better than macarons and a lot of laughter on Mother’s Day”
