For my second post in “In Her Shoes, I wanted to share about how important engagement pictures really are. When Blaise and I got engaged on the cruise, he did one of the best things that any girl could ask for, he hired a photographer to capture the moment of proposing. We have so many fantastic pictures that I couldn’t be happier about having. When we booked our photographers, I knew that since they were Seattle based, we might have to skip the engagement pictures or do them in Seattle, on a trip back to my hometown. It worked out that my friends Jenny and Jason of Jkoe Photography were going to be in NYC and I had to jump on the opportunity to get our pictures done. While it took some convincing of why we needed to have these pictures done, we couldn’t be happier with the result.
Some benefits and why I strongly recommend every couple to do them:
1 – picture taking on the wedding day will go so much smoother, knowing the cues that your photographer gives
2 – the pictures can be used for upcoming events(engagement party, bridal shower)/birthdays for family or each other/holidays
3 – you get to know your photographer on another level while being more relaxed
