One of my favorite questions I ask people when I meet with them is, “how did you meet?” When I sat down with Amy and Jonathan for their initial consultation, and they shared their story with me I could hardly believe it! This is truly a story that needs to be featured on the Today Show or Oprah! 🙂
Here’s how it all went down…Amy was at Crystal Mountain skiing, and hopped on the ski lift only to sit next to Jonathan. In the brief time they had while chatting on the ski lift, they learned they both lived in the same neighborhood but then quickly parted ways after they reached the top of the mountain…of course, not exchanging contact information or anything like that.
Fast forward to another day in the near future when Amy is walking down the street in her neighborhood – there is a telephone pole with a sign on it that somehow catches her eye and at the top it states, “I Saw U at Crystal Mountain”. She stops to more fully read the posting, which briefly describes their encounter on the mountain and she suddenly realizes this was the guy she met on the ski lift and he wants to grab coffee with her! She responds to his chance encounter posting, they meet up in a coffee shop, and the rest is history! Talk about meant to be!
So of course, they just had to incorporate this story into their wedding somehow…what better place than with the cake! Marilou from ML’s Kitchen created a perfect replica of Crystal Mountain complete with a cake topper of a pair of skiers that looked just like Amy & Jonathan! The Groom’s Cake was a small telephone pole which even had an edible copy of the note that Jonathan posted for Amy! Way too cute…pics are in the collection of incredible images below captured by Paul Joseph Brown.
