So, you’re newly engaged. You got a manicure and posted ring selfies. You celebrated with your family and friends, now what? It’s time to start the actual planning and most couples have a hard time knowing where to start. Here are our tips on what to focus on first:
I know, I know, you just got engaged and want to start playing with flowers and eating cake, but before you do any of that you must talk and determine a budget. This will help and narrow down options.
Brainstorm theme and colors.
Decide on an overall style for your big day. If you want an outdoor rustic wedding, this will save you time and energy by avoiding looking at downtown hotel ballrooms.
Hire a Wedding Planner.
Well, of course we’re going to say this, but a hiring a planner in the beginning will save you so much time and stress by having a cruise director to guide you along the whole process.
Book a Venue and Select a Date.
Once you have an overall style narrowed down, start researching venues that fit that style. A wedding planner can absolutely help with this.
Try on dresses.
Finally the fun begins! Make dress appointments and grab your girls. Your dress will influence the rest of the details of the wedding.
There’s so many decisions to make in this engagement process, but hopefully this will help guide you along to get started. But the most important thing is to enjoy the engagement process with your fiancé. It goes by too quickly and before you know it, the big day will be here. Stuck on what to do next? We’re here to help!
