For some brides, you might care less what centerpieces you have or what the groomsmen boutonnieres look like. My mom is an avid gardener, and flowers are definitely a part of our love language. So this was most definitely a priority for us. Here are a few simple tips to take into consideration before meeting with a florist:
- Start getting some ideas together from magazines, blogs, instagram etc. I love grabbing a magazine, drinking a cup of coffee, and getting inspiration from real weddings. It’s a favorite past time of mine 🙂
- Look at all of your pictures you pulled as a whole. What is it about those photos you liked? Is it a certain flower, a certain color combination, the structure of the arrangements? It’s SO nice to have a feel for what you like when you meet with your florist so you have a good starting point. This can save a ton of time, and ensure you’re getting what you really want!
- Don’t be afraid to ask them about other decor items. You want your design to be cohesive- so be sure to ask if they think a certain linen color would work best… or show them your dress so they can design a bouquet for you that fits with the style! It’s best to give them the complete picture- so all your vendors are on the same page style-wise.
- And remember, these are such talented and creative people- so let them do their job! Their eye for design is amazing, so giving them a little room for creativity will pay off in the long run!
