Ashley + Thomas’ Fort Worth Wedding

Ashley and Thomas tied the knot last June in the heart of Fort Worth, Texas! Their ceremony took place at St. Philip Presbyterian with their reception to follow at the Omni Hotel in downtown Fort Worth. There they had a sushi bar, a live band, and glow sticks for some dance floor fun! Everyone had a blast and we were so lucky to be a part of their special day!

Jillian + Cody’s Backyard Wedding

When we first met with Jillian and her mom, Jillian expressed that she always wanted to get married in her parents backyard underneath the trees with a romantic tented reception to follow. We were able to do just that! The ceremony took place exactly where she had envisioned it, on the back of her parents property. Guests were then asked to join them under the tent for a night full of yummy food, lots of dancing, and s’mores around the fire. Jillian and Cody had the day that they always dreamt of. We wish them many years of happiness together!

This super awesome wedding took place right in the heart of Dallas at The Filter Building which is located right on White Rock Lake. The bride and groom love all things outdoors so they wanted to make sure that their wedding was very organic with lots of outdoorsy items incorporated throughout both the ceremony and reception. We were able to have a beautiful ceremony right on the lake and then the reception took place inside The Filter Building where guests were able to enjoy the view with all the windows throughout the building. Guests danced the night away as well as enjoying the outdoor cigar bar that overlooked the beautiful lake!

Lindsay + Russell’s Dallas wedding

You may remember Lindsay and Russell from their engagement session that we posted on our blog earlier this year! Lindsay and Russell were married in May in a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony at the Trinity River Audubon Center, which is just south of Dallas. Lindsay had originally told us that she wanted a wildflower wedding with a picnic feel and we were able to help her bring that dream to life. The Trinity River Audubon Center is a perfect location for a wildflower-inspired wedding. The Trinity River Audubon Center is very organic and natural, just what they were looking for. We were able to help bring in vintage board games from Period Charm Rentals to provide something fun for all guests. Lindsay and Russell also had a quilt that they used for a guest book as well. Everything about their wedding was very meaningful to the two!

This wedding was featured on Style Me Pretty Texas, and now we are so excited to feature it on our Sweet Pea Events blog!

Happy Halloween–Heather + Ed’s Spooky Wedding

We thought what day better than Halloween to share this spooky wedding. Halloween is Heather and Ed’s favorite holiday so that wanted to make a huge Halloween party out of their wedding reception. Heather’s vision was to have a Martha Stewart meets haunted house sort of feel. We started with their ceremony at a private residence in Dallas where the two tied the knot with lots of pumpkins and fall gourds. After a small cocktail hour at the home, the guests were all asked to change into their costumes and head over to Off The Grid for the big bash! Some of our favorite details included a cemetery Heather created with guests names on tombstones, their wedding party dressing up as gladiators, and all the incredible from DiFiori! Please enjoy this super unique Halloween wedding and congrats to Heather and Ed on their first year of marriage!

Pantone Colors Spring 2013

September is actually my favorite month of the year, especially in New York City. The air is starting to feel more crisp, and there are so many events going on during September. The month starts with the US Open and quickly jumps into New York Fashion Week! There have been some awesome things to see come out of fashion week for color trends from Pantone for Spring 2013. If you haven’t seen the colors and are getting married next Spring, I recommend checking out the colors. My favorite color for next Spring is Nectarine and Grayed Jade. How will these affect your Spring Wedding colors for 2013? Check out some of these bouquets that highlight some of the 2013 Pantone Colors. It’s great to see how you might be able to incorporate these trends into your bouquets for yourself or your bridesmaids in 2013!

Found on Martha Stewart Weddings: This particular bouquet is reminiscent of the Pantone shade of Tender Shoots, but is a beautiful mix of hydrangeas and orchids, two of my personal favorite flowers!

Found on Style Me Pretty, Mama Flowers: This bouquet encompasses three of the colors found in the Pantone Sprint 2013 Colors of Dusk Blue, Lemon Zest and Nectarine. I love seeing these colors together, in a very unique, yet elegant bouquet."

Vine Floral & Event Design - found on Brides.com "These flowers are a mix of the Pantone colors of Nectarine and Lemon Zest. The flowers are certainly not your typical bouquet, as a mix of cymbidium orchids, celosia, parrot tulips, and dahlias. Of course these colors are typically available in a variety of flowers that might be more traditional, but they look great here!
