When Pantone announce that their 2017 Color of the Year was Greenery, we couldn’t help be a bit surprised but excited. The use of greenery in weddings and events has been such a beautiful trend – and we love it so much! We wanted to put together an inspiration board of some of our favorite uses of greenery in the past year! Which one is your favorite?
If we were to pull out our 2016 goals list that we made back in January, you’d find “Do a Reception Style editorial with Seattle Met Bride and Groom.” Much to our excitement, when Seattle Met Bride and Groom called for this very thing, a happy dance was in order!
For the Desert Villa theme and design, we knew we wanted to do something playful, while still romantic. Cacti were the main inspiration and the pivotal starting point of the design. We examined different cacti to create our color palette including shades of green and pale pink with pops of yellow. Everything was designed to have readers feel as if they had been guests at a high-end wedding in Mexico.
Sturdy flowers were a must with cactus and large, white king protea. Air plants and softer blooms were also added to give the floral design a more romantic look. A calligraphy invitation suite jump-started the first impression of the theme. And I for one can count on one finger the number of times I’ve seen writing on a cactus!
The hanging cake added a fun element to this inspiration. This cake was specifically designed based off of stucco and adobe buildings found in the desert. The jalapeño cocktail, salsa and salmon plate would make anybody’s mouth water just by sitting at this table. The linens and rentals (china, chargers, flatware, glassware, and chairs) completed the overall look. We hope this takes you away to your favorite little Desert Villa!
And don’t forget to pick up your copy of Seattle Met Bride and Groom, now on newstands!

For this editorial, we wanted to create a down-to-earth, family-oriented wedding with a Southern France flair.
Every decision was based on this. A little bit of color, a stunning couple, and a lot of breads and cheeses were key elements that we needed for this Provence feeling to come to life. The dress, table setting, and every detail highlighted this feeling of togetherness. And of course we ended the day with a traditional Croquemboche Cake!

Who wouldn’t want to get married on top of the world? The inspiration for this shoot came to us after the first time hiking up Rattlesnake Ledge right outside of Seattle. The breathtaking views make you feel as if you are literally on top of the world. We designed an organic, natural elopement.
We wanted the main focus of the inspiration shoot to be the stunning scenery and only add to that beauty. We kept the florals and decor very organic and natural with lots of greenery and muted colors. Finally, our couple finished off their elopement inspiration with a hike through the woods to start off their new lives together!
Thank you to Junebug Weddings for featuring this inspiration shoot!
